Common questions our readers ask are
How long does it take to do Walt Disney World?
or
How many days do I need to do Walt Disney World?
Unfortunately, there's no easy answer. It ultimately depends on your budget and how you like to holiday. Walt Disney World alone spans 4 theme parks, 2 water parks and a shopping district. While on the surface you could set aside a day for each park, you'll likely need longer if you want any time to relax - but that's not to say it's not doable.

Budget

The deciding factor for how long to stay at Walt Disney World is your budget. The most common duration is 2-weeks, but some people do opt for just one week. If budget is the primary factor, see our Walt Disney World Staying Onsite Vs Offsite article. There are many benefits to staying at A Walt Disney World Resort hotel - and it's what we do when we're at the Walt Disney World theme parks - and there are several hotel options that span almost all budgets from Disney's All-Star

How Many Days Do You Need at Disney

If you are planning your first Disney vacation you may not understand just how HUGE Walt Disney World is. With four theme parks, all of which exceed the size and scope of your local six flags plus 40 square miles of accommodations, utilities, and activities. A lot of first time visitors ask me how long they should plan their vacation to be able to do everything and the short answer is you can’t. I am an annual pass holder and visit 2-3 times a year and I haven’t come close to doing everything.

For a First Time Visitor

5-6 Park Days

You should plan on at least 5 park days, not including arrival and departure. Ideally, your trip will span 6 or 7 nights giving you ample time to explore the parks but also take advantage of the amenities at your resort and enjoy a relaxed, exploratory pace.

I love the afternoon nap! Whether or not you are a napper (and believe me I am not) I love splitting up my day with a break at the hotel. While my husband naps I take a refreshing shower, charge my phone and myself.

Your first trip to Disney can be extremely overwhelming. It is important to have a plan, set priorities and no

How long does it take to see Walt Disney World?

This is a question I get asked all the time from people who are planning their very first trip.

First timer:  How many days / how much time do I need to see all of Walt Disney World?

Me:  You will never have enough vacation days

Let me explain.

On average most first timers go for a week or ten days.  This is a good amount of time to have a great experience, enjoy the parks, sample the food and relax while enjoying the resort amenities.  They may or may not fit in a visit to one of the water parks and Disney Springs.  Please note – you will NOT see ‘everything’.

To put it in perspective, Walt Disney World Resort is about the size of San Francisco or Ottawa.  While you can plan to visit them for a week, you wouldn’t expect to see ‘everything’ in that time – and you should assume the same with Walt Disney World.  When you look at the maps of the property – those are highways you see that connect the 4 theme parks, they are not side-by-side like in Disneyland.

With each of the 4 parks you can spend a full day there and get through a LOT of stuff.  If you’re staying at a W

What is the Ideal Length of a Disney World Trip?

Sometimes 4 to 5 days at Disney World just isn’t enough.

The ideal length of stay for a Disney World vacation is 6-7 days. This amount of time gives you a balance between going to all the theme parks, exploring other areas of the resort, and having time to relax.

Yes, a weeklong vacation more expensive than a 4-5 day trip and it may mean more time away from work or school. However, you won’t feel as rushed and it’ll give you time to do something else.

One option is to spend a full day at each theme park and then return to your favorite theme park on the fifth day (Magic Kingdom is the top choice). If that doesn’t appeal to you, then maybe you’d like to just lounge by the pool, do a monorail tour of some of the other hotels, or rent a car and go on a day trip.  Maybe you’ll want to head over to Universal Orlando and check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s other rides. It’s a great park!

If your trip is during the warm weather months, then consider adding the water park option. Spend a relaxing and refreshing day a
