Future networks world forum 2024

IEEE Future Networks World Forum

The 2023 IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF’23) will continue the path set in 2018 by the IEEE 5G World Forum in bringing together experts from industry, academia, and research to exchange their vision as well as their achieved advances in the continuing evolution of network technology, including 5G, 6G, and other innovative cross-domain breakthroughs.

Located in Baltimore, USA, IEEE FNWF’23 seeks contributions on how to nurture and cultivate future network technologies and applications for the benefit of society.  These systems should unveil a novel network architecture that not only improves physical data rate, but also creates a new ecosystem allowing new services and applications deployment. A key target is to build a novel network architecture that should support not only classical mobile broadband applications and services but also vertical industry (e.g., Intelligent Transport, Industrial IoT, and eHealth) and other future networks-based services.

News &
Events

The 6G-PATH project participated in the IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF) 2024, held in Dubai from 15-17 October 2024. As a premier platform for discussing advancements in networks, the event featured two presentations by 6G-PATH’s Technical Manager and project partner, ONE.

On 15 October, during the Symposium on 6G Communications, ONE presented
“Paving the Path to 6G: The 6G-PATH Project

s Vision for Advanced Telecommunications’ Infrastructure and Use Cases.”
The presentation outlined the project’s innovative approach to building next-generation telecommunications infrastructure and highlighted the use cases driving 6G development.

On 16 October, another Symposium addressed Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) and Emergency and Crisis Management. In a session focused on 6G SNS Experimental Testbeds, ONE presented the 6G-PATH Use Cases related to Health and Smart Cities Verticals, demonstrating the project’s impact on addressing critical societal needs.

The 6G-PATH project continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of 6G networks, with its participation in events like FNWF 2024 further solidifying its posi
