Review : Brooke Saward is professioneel reiziger. Vele tips over o.a. luxe reizen, solo reizen, foto's maken, werken onderweg, landschappen.

Okay guys, buckle in – this is going to be a long post, because I am in love with the book/blog World of Wanderlust and I’m going to spend the next 1986 words telling you exactly why.
I have been following Brooke’s blog for about four years now, which is ages in internet world. She had finished university and was about halfway through a year’s worth of non-stop travelling. I found her blog in the maze-like kind of way that only the internet provides, by following a path about three people long before I landed on her blog. Ever since, I’ve read every single post that has been posted on WOW. It’s just addictive! There is something to be said about reading the words of a blogger
My name is Brooke Saward, a twenty-something explorer originally from Australia. I created World of Wanderlust as a space to inspire young people to travel more and to travel solo. I truly believe solo travel can change your life and make you become a more confident, whole version of yourself.
It was in December of 2012 when I created my travel blog. I had been to a handful of countries in
Asia
and wanted to create a space online to document my adventures.
On the day I graduated university I booked a one way ticket to
London
. I wanted to see as much of the world as I could in 12 months. I travelled throughout Europe, across Asia, overland in South America, Africa and the Middle East.
Over the course of my career I have visited 80-something countries solo across six continents.
My blog has become a corner of the internet for solo travellers to find inspiration and advice to plan their next trip. It has also enabled me to see foreign parts of the world I never would have been able to visit without my audience. So, thank you for being here!
One of the most popular questions I receive is
“how do you get paid to travel?”

Reading the latest World of Wanderlust book, coincided with my own travels to Tasmania where the author Brooke Saward is from.
But as I could not find it in a bookshop I downloaded the free sample to my Kindle app as I do before purchasing any digital edition.
Usually this would provide me with enough information to make an informed decision, however this was far from the case (and yes some of the following should be forgiven since it was designed as a coffee table book).
What should have been the Contents page took up six pages. Throw in a few pages of photos, an ‘About’ page which told me nothing and a poorly formated ‘About the Author’ which spilt over two pages and the actual content doesn’t start until 74% of the way through the sample.
In fact out of 22 pages, the only real written chapter content amounted to 4 of them, the Introduction.
The Kindle book price of $11.49 US on Amazon made it much cheaper than the previous book of Saward’s I read, so with low expectations I downloaded the full book and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of written content. It was at least a few hours worth of reading.
