An Easy Guide to Breakfast in Japan

Taste the World Gaienmae (World Breakfast AllDay)
Dedicated to ensuring amazing traditional breakfast dishes from across the world don’t die out, Taste the World — previously known as World Breakfast AllDay — does exactly what it says on the tin.
With a handful of permanent menu options ad numerous drinks from across the world, the menu also features one nation’s breakfast per month. This means not only a main dish, but several special drinks and sides to go with it. The seating is communal, so you can enjoy the food with company.

World Breakfast Allday
The quirky concept of this retro Jingumae café is, as the name suggests, breakfasts from different countries around the world. There are three staple options available at all times. The full English breakfast, or fry-up, comes with scrambled eggs, baked beans, sausages, hash browns, cooked tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread.
The American breakfast, on the other hand, is a plate of pancakes served with whipped butter and maple syrup alongside crispy bacon, fried potatoes and fried eggs. The Asian representative on the regular menu is from Taiwan and includes a pudding-like soy milk soup topped with yutiao (fried crullers) and dried shrimp, while on the side are dan ping egg pancakes filled with cheese and ham, as well as a sticky rice ball.
What’s interesting is the featured country breakfast that changes every two months. For June through July 2023, the classic Malaysian breakfast nasi lemak takes the spotlight. This hearty, spicy dish is made up of rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves paired with a host of condiments: peanuts, crispy anchovies, hard-boiled egg, cucumber slices and the most important of all, a rich chilli paste known
