Your ultimate guide to Hyatt hotel brands

Hyatt has long been one of the most popular hotel chains among award travelers. But World of Hyatt has one serious shortcoming: Hyatt has a relatively small global footprint compared to giants like Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors.

Luckily, Hyatt is working to build its footprint. The brand acquired Mr & Mrs Smith hotels in 2023 and bought Standard International in 2024. Plus, Hyatt is boosting its all-inclusive collection by partnering with Bahia Principe and buying Playa Hotels & Resorts.

In short, the World of Hyatt portfolio is growing. So, to help you keep up with the growth, here's a look at the current Hyatt brands.

Alila

Alila was one of Hyatt's most exciting additions when it acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018. Alila is a great choice for anyone looking to get intimately acquainted with nature without sacrificing luxury.

Alila has just 20 properties open in eight countries. All the Alila properties are stunning boutique hotels, and many are in far-flung destinations. More than half of the open Alila properties are in Asia, with a handful of locations in China, India, Indonesia and Oman. There are

Today: My 10 favorite Hyatt hotels & resorts in the world

Hyatt is one of the world’s best hospitality brands. The company was founded by Jay Pritzker in 1957 when he purchased the Hyatt House motel adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport. Over the following decades, Jay Pritzker and his brother, Donald Pritzker, grew the company into the industry-leading management and hotel ownership company as it is known today. Hyatt manages more than 500 hotels and resorts across 15 distinctive brands, each designed to deliver experiences attuned to the lifestyles, attitudes, values, and aspirations of the guests for whom it is designed: Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Hyatt Zilara & Ziva, Hyatt Centric, Caption by Hyatt, the Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Destination by Hyatt, JDV by Hyatt, Miraval, Thompson Hotels, and Alila.

Park Hyatt, Andaz and Alila are considered the group’s true luxury brands and rank among my favorite hotel brands in the world. Located in major gateway cities and prime leisure destinations worldwide, Hyatt’s top hotels are a sy

An interesting discussion of the most
underrated
Hyatts got me thinking about underrated versus best. I love the Park Hyatts in the Maldives, Abu Dhabi and Paris – but few consider them underrated. They are discussed frequently, very good, but also quite fairly rated!

Park Hyatt Chennai

There are places like Hyatt Place Cabo, Lost Pines near Austin, and Hana-Maui which get strong endorsements for families, though each has a different vibe and amenity level.

“Underrated” can mean (1) a luxury property at a surprisingly low points category, or (2) a solid, under-the-radar hotel in a city/resort area that people

20 best Hyatt hotels in the world to book with points

There's a Hyatt brand and a Hyatt hotel for every budget, from labels like the casual Caption all the way up to the Park Hyatt. You might even be surprised to discover some smaller boutique hotels are also connected to the World of Hyatt loyalty network, thanks to Hyatt's partnership with the Mr & Mrs Smith booking platform.

You can find great points deals in the U.S. within Hyatt's Category 1 tier of hotels. However, you might need to plan ahead to rack up enough points for a stay at some of the company's more in-demand hotels for award travel.

Whether you're looking for overwater villas in the Maldives, a fabulous hotel that blends history with elegance in London or even just a great all-inclusive resort, Hyatt has plenty of stellar offerings across many of its brands to satisfy your interests. It doesn't hurt that staying at any of them is a great way to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points while you're at it.

With all that in mind, here are the 20 best Hyatt hotels in the world.
