World of tanks marks of excellence

How Are Marks of Excellence Earned?

What do the marks on gun barrels mean?

A distinctive mark on a gun barrel is a game achievement.

To receive a Mark of Excellence, you should cause as much damage as possible during one battle. The higher the average damage per battle compared to other players in the same vehicle, the higher the level of achievement and the more marks will appear on the gun.

Damage caused with your assistance is also taken into account. Thanks to this, the achievement is available for both light tanks, which are not really designed for causing damage but rather for spotting targets for allies, as well as SPGs, which help allies by stunning enemy vehicles. The maximum damage caused by destroying a track, spotting, or stunning is counted—not the sum of these values.

To earn one Mark of Excellence to display on your gun, the average damage caused by you and the average damage caused with your assistance must be higher than the results of 65% of players in this vehicle over the past 14 days.

How Is Damage Calculated?

Starting from Update 9.1, damage is calculated separately for each vehicle. Battles fought before this update are not counted. This is necess

Coming Soon: Marks of Excellence!

On the battlefields of World War II, tanks would tally destroyed vehicles with distinctive marks along their gun barrels. This was the simplest, most powerful way to identify the most effective crews. Nevertheless, it wasn't a widely-used practice – the marks couldn’t be assigned reliably, as in a big battle, it wasn't easy to tell whose shell destroyed an enemy.

The same happens in World of Tanks – when the heat is on, how easy is it to see who really “destroyed” an enemy vehicle? One might easily win an even one-on-one battle where both combatants start with the same HP, but many times a tank can finish off an already heavily-damaged tank or one-shot the weaker vehicles. Obviously, these destructions shouldn't all be considered “equal.”

World of Tanks, a game that produces tons of real-time data. As you know from seeing after-battle reports, it's possible to record the damage inflicted by every player in every battle. How much damage is dealt largely depends on player skill -- the influence of teammates becomes secondary, unlike the amount of battl

Marks of Excellence Inbound for Console Tankers

Now console tankers can show off their battle prowess by achieving Marks of Excellence, a new player performance recognition system for World of Tanks on console. These new marks are reserved for vehicles Tier 5 and higher, and players are rewarded them based on three factors:

One mark awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 65% of players in a particular tank

Two marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 85% of players in a particular tank

Three marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 90% of players in a particular tank

Players will really have to step up their game if they want to be part of the World of Tanks on console elite. So hit the battlefield and prove to the rest of the world that you’re the master of the IS-3, Cromwell—or any other armored warrior out there for that matter!

Five new tanks will also be rolling out with update 2.1: three from Germany and two from the U.S.S.R. The Tier 3 medium Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A had a decent top gun for its tier and deals a high amount of alpha damage—no
