Capcom leak: Sony paid for Monster Hunter World timed exclusivity & to block crossplay and cross-progression

The timed exclusivity thing is pretty standard in the industry but the baffling thing is they apparently paid Capcom so that World would not have crossplay and cross-saves, they literally paid money to make the game worse for all players on all platforms.

It’s easy to blame Sony but Capcom willingly agreed to do this. The final decision comes from Capcom so I put the blame on them.

If you’re looking to play Monster Hunter World with friends on different platforms, I have bad news — 
you can’t
. So this means you’ll be locked to play with people in your specific place to play. Additionally,
Monster Hunter World does not have cross-save
, which is a way to take your save with you onto a different system but the same platform. For example, if you’re playing on an Xbox, you won’t be able to take the data onto another Xbox. 



However, there’s some good news. Monster Hunter World isn’t region-locked. While you can’t play with people on other platforms, you can still play with people from different parts of the world. series is the ability to play with up to three other friends in order to hunt monsters. This has not changed when it comes to

Monster Hunter World
does not in fact, have any form of crossplay. Players will have to stick to their own preferred platform if they wish to play online with friends.
