Australia completes remarkable clean sweep of aerials podium at FIS Freestyle World Cup event in Deer Valley


Australia's freestyle skiers have put the world on notice less than a year out from the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, completing a stunning clean sweep of the podium at the FIS aerials World Cup event in Deer Valley, USA.

Veteran Olympians Laura Peel and Danielle Scott won gold and silver, while rising star Abbey Willcox claimed bronze in tough, snowy conditions at the Utah resort.

It is the first time in history that Australian skiers have swept the podium in a FIS Freestyle World Cup skiing event.

No one nation has swept a World Cup aerials podium since China's Xu Mengtao, Shao Qi and Xu Nuo did at Lake Placid in 2019. 

Peel completed her third World Cup victory in a row and 12th overall following her double last week at Lac Beauport to extend her lead at the top of the overall World Cup standings.

Incredibly, another Australian, 25-year-old Airleigh Frigo, finished fourth, making it an unprecedented night for the Flying Kangaroos.

This year’s event, running from February 6–8, 2025, promises three exciting evenings of competition, showcasing aerials, moguls, and dual moguls. GENERAL INFORMATION AND COMPETITION VENUE

The competition venue is located at the base of White Owl and Champion Ski Runs. Allow 10-15 minutes to walk up to the competition venue once at Snow Park. The Snowflake Lift is available for public for rides to get you 80% of the way. All guests will need to walk through a security checkpoint. No Bags, dogs or weapons allowed.
