You can look on twitter, tumblr, deviant art, there’s plenty sfw artists out there, I have gotten a few commissioned of my characters from various people.
The commission you linked looks fine, it’s just too anime for my liking, but many people love the anime style.
Some people charge a lot, other’s don’t charge enough imo

How do people get pictures of only the model of something on WoW?
I'm looking to make some icons and I only want the model/raw animations of my character with nothing in the background. Seems I just can't find anything for this. The magic wand tool is going to drive me insane...

Go to http://www.wowhead.com/list and either enter your character or make a custom gear setup.
Then double-click the preview window to get a fullscreen version that you do a screen capture of.
There's still the curse logos in the background, but it's much easier to remove than the WoW background.
