Eyeglass World Opens First of Eight Planned Local Stores
Georgia-based prescription eyewear retailer Eyeglass World has opened a new store at the North County Square commercial center in Vista, the first of eight planned for San Diego County by June 2016.
Company officials said the store at 1811 University Drive, one of two now open in California, is among the first in the nation to offer specially designed prescription lenses for high-tech “smart glass” eyewear products, such as Google Glass and Vuzix M100.
Developed in partnership with Rochester Optical of New York, the lenses provide specific customized adjustments needed for “heads-up display” technologies deployed in smart glasses, which let users view digital content.
Eyeglass World is among several chains owned by Duluth, Ga.-based National Vision Inc., which operates 800 retail locations in 44 states and the District of Columbia. There are more than 70 Eyeglass World stores nationwide.

Do You Use Your Computer All Day? Get Computer Glasses in Escondido, CA!
Computer glasses are specialty eyeglasses made specifically to address the unique visual needs of extended computer and smartphone use. To address these needs, computer glasses are made completely differently, in a number of important ways, from regular eyeglasses and reading glasses. These significant differences are what make computer glasses absolutely essential for maintaining both your short term visual comfort and long term visual health as you work and play in a world increasingly dominated by computers and smartphones. Visit Escondido Premier Eyecare to learn about all your options.
To begin explaining the benefits of computer glasses, it is important to point out that computer screens are generally positioned around 20-26 inches from your eyes. This is what eyecare professionals call your “intermediate” zone of vision. Unfortunately, traditional eyeglasses are not made in a way that is conducive to intermediate viewing of the type required by computer work. This often leads to blurred vision, eyestrain and headaches after extended computer use.
