Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55
weekend on Friday Larson pieced together a miraculous charge from 21st to victory in 30 laps. He punctuated that performance with a last lap, last corner pass to seal the deal. That marked the longest drive to a win with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars in 11 years.
The stage set for “Yung Money” on Saturday was a 12th place starting position with 55 laps to get the job done. Looking at the math from the night before, the task seemed like a simple one. But of course, driving through a field with the country’s best Sprint Car drivers in it two nights in a row is far from easy. But Larson managed to pull it off anyway.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion methodically picked his way to the front over the course of the longest race in laps on the 2024 World of Outlaws calendar. It started with a strong first rotation that saw him go from 12th to ninth. Six circuits later he cracked the top five. And then on Lap 44 he slipped under race-long leader Giovanni Scelzi to take the top spot and then sped away.
Kyle Larson drives from P21 to win World of Outlaws thriller, achieves new max heart rate
Kyle Larson might be a High Limit High Roller, but he still likes to race with the World of Outlaws from time to time. Just after midnight as Friday turned to Saturday, the NASCAR points leader drove from 21st to the win at I-55 Raceway.
The win wasn’t the only thing that Kyle Larson came away with. Always one to keep track of his heart rate during races, Larson reached a new max. 198BPM as the race was coming to an end.
When you watch this thrilling finish, where Larson wins by 0.053 seconds, you will understand exactly why that is.
After the race, Larson revealed his heart rate throughout the feature. He had quite a ride around I-55 Raceway.
James McFadden had enough distance to get the win. As soon as he found that lapped car in front of him, Noah Gass, it was too late to move and keep his momentum. Despite recovering well, Larson had an open door.
Leave it cracked, and Kyle Larson will come barging in. Larson wrapped the bottom, slipped by Gass and stole the win from under McFadden’s nose. It was one of the better runs he has had this season on the dirt.

Ironman 55 Is Next For World Of Outlaws
PEVELY, Mo. — Much of the world’s focus is on Paris as France currently hosts the Olympics, but the small town of Pevely, Mo., is set to offer the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars an Olympic challenge this weekend.
It’s grueling. It’s demanding. It’s a test of endurance. It’s the Ironman 55 and it’s next for the national touring sprint car series.
Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 welcomes The Greatest Show on Dirt this weekend for two nights (August 2-3), culminating in Saturday’s 55-lap finale. This year the 16th running of the event elevates even more, offering a $25,000 payday to the Ironman.
The World of Outlaws will be joined by their open-wheel companions – the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota – for both nights.
GRAVEL’S HOT STREAK
The dream season for David Gravel has reached new heights in the last two weeks.
First it was a nearly $300,000 week at Eldora Speedway that included claiming his first Kings Royal crown. King David XLI joined Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Donny Schatz, Mark Kinser, and Doug Wolfgang as the sixth driver to win the Knoxville Nationals, Kings Royal and National Open.

PEVELY, Mo.
— On Saturday night, Kyle Larson pursued another Ironman 55 title with the World of Outlaws sprint car series at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. His path toward another victory was a bit difficult as he started from the 12th starting spot.
Giovanni Scelzi and Donny Schatz led the field to the starting area in Turn 4 where Scelzi jumped out to an early lead with Schatz right behind him. Carson Macedo lingered behind Schatz though, waiting to make a move on either of the two leaders.
Before anyone could get scored though, a pile-up between Noah Gass and Ayden Gatewood took place in Turns 1 and 2, drawing the caution. The restart saw all three drivers maintain their respective positions though.
On Lap 17, Larson was already up to fifth and was looking to make his way even further into the top five. As he raced down the backstretch side-by-side with Corey Day, who was in the coveted fourth-place position, he went down low going into the corner, and was able to get by Day by the time they
