Darktide home world
About This Game
Take back the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty foes in this intense and brutal action shooter.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
is the new co-op focused experience from the award-winning team behind the Vermintide series.
In the depths of the hive, the seeds of corruption threaten to turn into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious and sinister new force is seeking to take control of the entire city. It is up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to root out the enemy before the city succumbs to Chaos.
As Tertium falls, Rejects Will Rise.
Built on the legacy of Vermintide 2’s best-in-class melee combat, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide introduces intense WH40K gunplay to the mix. Master the balance between ranged and melee combat as you fight through a slew of enemies. Feel the impact of each swipe, swing, and slice of a chainsword, or fry some flesh with a lasgun.
Darktide is a co-op game. Wandering too far, risks punishment by foes looking to immobilize or capture stray Rejects, such as the slavering Chaos Hound or the Moebian Trapper. Once you fall prey to such foes, only your teammates can save you! More than that, your innate to

look this up! It is admittedly a bit of a hassle, as it won’t let me simply copy some segments correctly for whatever reason, and requires a considerable amount of time to present here. (Hopefully this doesn’t become a common request! )
On that note, might I suggest creating a discussion over at our Gameplay Feedback section to propose a feature to view one’s own operative background information? Perhaps if enough players show interest in the idea, it could be read and considered by our developers.

Home World: Crucis
Considered the “second world” of the Moebian Domain, Crucis is a large shrine world, and a popular destination for pilgrimages.
You were born on Crucis.

The Moebian Shrineguard are a religiously fanatical, xenos-hating militia, sworn to defend the tenets and temples of Saint Messelina to the death.
At a young age you survived the Bloody Throne ritual to join an Ecclesiarchy Militia sect known as the Emperor’s Scions. Initiates into the cause were treated harshly, but your many hard
Warhammer fans often know a truly stunning amount of lore about their favorite army. The franchise has enough backstory to fill a few thousand encyclopedias. Character building might be very important to some players when playing a game like Warhammer 40K Darktide. From classes to the weapons that best fit them, every character is unique. However, if you don't know anything about the lore, you might not get much out of some choices.
Choosing a Home World in Warhammer 40k Darktide
The most important thing to understand about Home Worlds is that the choice does not affect gameplay. You can pick any of the eight planets, and your gameplay experience will be identical. Choosing a Home World only has two main effects. It changes some small lines of dialogue and locks off one visual customization option. With that in mind, you will suffer no penalty for making any particular choice.

Overall Feel of Darktide is Lacking

So I made an account just to voice my opinion on the current feel of Darktide, which I have yet to see anyone bring up.
The Maps, design, combat, soundtrack are perfection. So with that being said:
Has anyone else noticed a drastic shift from the original, dark-horror tones that the game had upon launch? The original tone that the first trailers conveyed so perfectly.
The latest updates have injected much new dialogue (and characters) that have really changed the entire feel of the game. Its starting to sound and feel a lot like
Guardians of the Galaxy
. The banter has progressively gotten more light-hearted and quirky, replacing the older, more serious dialogue. And I do thoroughly enjoy the funny banter in Vermintide, and find it fitting, because the characters are not convicts and are essentially mercenaries of their own accord. They answer to no one and take up contracts and missions for their own personal gain. I feel like Darktide is trying too hard to emulate this same formula, and its coming across as forced and out of place.
The reality in 40k is 40,000 times more dystopian and bleak than Fantasy and shoul
