Didn’t this use to have an animation a white colored bubble with some lines in it?
Used one of these today and thought I did not use it, then turns out I did, but did not see the animation at all…
Is the animation broken or do I remember wrong?

Did you break the animation with something else? I don’t know fully how animation breaks work but some very good PVP’rs are pretty good at animation breaks. I think Perp even features a few in his vids.

I’ll look into this - I don’t remember it having an animation in 2019 classic as a Warrior who did a lot of LIP + Challs, and also as a Rogue that tried to kick a few mages in my time and got IMMUNE back with no visual indication. And e

So you’ve heard everyone talk about doing the ‘lip opener’ on Vael. Should you actually do it and how do you do it?

What is the ‘LIP opener’ strategy?
Limited invulnerability potions, aka, LIP potions, make you immune to physical attacks for 6 seconds. If you use them while fighting, bosses won’t target you even if you are number 1 on threat.
The lip strategy is simply popping a LIP potion right at the start of the fight
(after the debuff lands)
so that you can backstab right away without worrying about aggro. This is often paired with vanishing early in the fight to make sure you don’t draw aggro once LIP duration ends.
If done right it looks something like this:

The fact is unless you’re in a fairly strong guild, your tank probably isn’t generating enough threat for you to do the LIP opener.
Ask yourself the following:

a bit ago i went to dmf area and get quee to battleground. When it pops i used /script RetrieveCorpse (); used lip get dmf but even like 3 sec didnt pass i died cause of melee dps !!! What kind of an idiot bug is that ? they killed me with physcal attacks while my lip is active and it costed me 4 hours for dmf again

Not sure seems most likely a bug, but i still reported the situation if its something like a hack seems nay and 2 more ppl will get a permaban

Wait, I looked it up Limited Invulnerability potion.
Some melee players attacks are actually magic.
Edit: also isn’t potion taking in the batching?
